Calgary is a busy place. We are smart, connected and aware of the world around us. We want the best for our
kids, family and friends. We are a city of over achievers, big hearts and lovers of a good time. Sometimes we think we can have it all. But sometimes it is all a little too much. We forget to eat, spend too much money or get burned out. Our family time is compacted and intense. We eat on the road, cram one more activity in and hope for the best. We hear ourselves complain, yell a bit more at our kids to hurry up and end up furious with the people we work with or love. These are all signs that we are doing too much and it is time to get unbusy. To take time to breathe, plan and start to enjoy the simple things in our life. To begin to like staying at home, to make a meal together, to lay on the floor and read, to garden, paint, and connect with our self so we can stay connected to the ones we love. Then we can have time to do and enjoy the things we keep meaning to. To eat better, shop locally, help the environment and finally figure out what it means to live in the moment. To once again find joy in the everyday activities of life. As part of this process, I created the Unbusy on Purpose Grocery List and Meal Planner to help make the best food choices for our family. To keep us organized, on budget and inspired. To get one more list out of our heads and on the refrigerator door instead. Each year our cooking gets better, our shopping smarter and our meals more healthy. This is our list and we would like to share it with you. To help take one piece of busy out of your life and inspire many more. |
